Doctoral Speaker Series

 At the DLS speaker series Carmen Mestizo will discuss the preliminary findings of her dissertation. She is examining the extent to which the international indigenous peoples’ movement influenced the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (“UNDRIP” or “Declaration”) in 2007.

What Happened: Did 2nd Amendment Voters & Justice Scalia's Death Determine the Election Outcome?

Join Fed Soc for a panel discussion about what really happened in 2016, and how Second Amendment voters and the death of Justice Scalia may have determined the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Panelists include Former NRA President & local attorney Sandy Froman, and UA Political Science Professor Dr. Samara Klar, and it will be moderated by Judge Brearcliffe (AZ Court of Appeals, Div. II). Water Law & Policy Conference

 The Water Law & Policy Conference, a collaboration with the Arizona Journal of Environmental Law & Policy at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law, will bring together attorneys, public policy makers, and scientists to review the major water law challenges facing Arizona. Presentations by experts in the field will include topics such as Tribal water rights, recycled water for potable uses, and the water/energy nexus. It will take place on Friday, December 1st in Tucson.

Schedule Overview

Friday, Dec. 1st: all-day summit at the University of Arizona College of Law, 8:30 A.M.-4:00 P.M. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. The conference will be followed by a happy hour for attendees.


This event may qualify for up to 5 hours of CLE credit.


A registration fee of $90 will be collected at the registration the morning of the event. Cash, check, and card are all accepted.

This event is free for students, employees of the University of Arizona, and government employees.


Anyone interested in water law & policy issues is welcome to attend!
