General Announcements
2017 Legal Research Boot Camp

The librarians and library fellows in the Law Library will be teaming up to teach an intensive legal research course (LEGAL RESEARCH BOOT CAMP) once again the week following the conclusion of the spring semester.

START DATE: Tuesday, May 16
END DATE: Thursday, May 18

Boot Camp builds on the fundamentals of legal research concepts introduced in the first-year legal research course, and will involve students in an intensive, hands-on course of concentrated legal research in primary and secondary sources, including treatises, digests, legal periodicals, legislative history, and internet and other on-line research. This year we will also introduce Drafting Assistant on Westlaw. The goal of the course is to develop legal research skills to enable students to work independently in a legal setting.

Boot Camp is open to all current Arizona Law students. This year, law students have TWO options: credit and noncredit.

Students taking the course for credit should register on UAccess for LAW 697A - 001 Intermediate Legal Research. This is a 1 credit P/F course. In addition to the three days of workshop, a project will be required.

Students not registered for credit for LAW 697A may register for Boot Camp using this form. You will NOT be awarded academic credit; however, no tuition or other fees will be charged. Participants who attend a required number of sessions will receive a certificate of participation.

If a greater number of students sign up for this class than can be accommodated, spaces will be reserved based on RSVP order.

Please contact Alexandra Lee Delgado (ald123@email.arizona.edu) with questions.

Prof. Bambauer will argue that these risks are not as severe as they are often presumed to be.
